A few tips August 16, 2002 ... :)

Assuming I remember to SCAN & upload it ... it basically says that constant surveillance of my monkey mind for anything remotely resembling an attack thought - no matter how extreme the 'provocation' may seem in any given moment ... well, you'd think it would be exhausting and some daze it is ... but it helps in mysterious & unexpected ways ... at least recently ... constant monitoring of the thoughts that arise ... and then dissolve ... there is a Buddhist tip that says to treat certain thoughts (no pun intended) as unwelcome guests ... :) For more on taming the monkey mind, why not try www.thubtenchodron.org/Publications/TamingTheMonkeyMind/Taming_The_Monkey_Mind.html or click a few millimetres below this image ... :)
Click here for the Thubten Chodron link I was yapping about ...

Okay. here's a few (vaguely related) links ...

Here's the site where I first read about the idea of  'set aside all attack thoughts'

{The Daily Lama has a similar concept, he calls 'inner disarmament'. May plug that phrase
into Google at some stage ...}

Ah yes, the tonglen advice ... easier said (& contemplated) than done :)

Speaking of meditations, the Vice Versa one has also proved useful on countless occasions ...

Chanting also helps ... {quite a LOT sometimes}

Something from Rumi abt choosing NOT to follow the energy of anger

Tha's about it ... well, okay, here's a handy link aswell

A couple of daze ago, I also found this handy little site ...

Breathing exercises can help too

{And if your first reaction to some of this is 2 dismiss it as unrealistic or even a tad loopy ... well, once upon a time - less than four years ago, infact - I would have enthusiastically joined in with your skepticism & moccking. So, things can & do change ... I mean if what
you're doing currently is working fabulously and seamlessly, you wouldn't even be
reading these words now, would you ... }

As someone once said, 'What do you choose to experience in this moment, now?'

Okay, one last link ...
